Faculty from the radiochemistry Ph.D. program recently published an article in the journal Solvent Extraction and Ion Exchange examining systems that could benefit the ability to use nuclear energy as a reliable energy source with net-zero carbon oxide emission. The article titled, "," is a result of the dissertation work by Joel Castillo (Radiochemistry, Ph.D. graduate, fall 2024) and faculty members Frederic Poineau and Artem Gelis (Chemistry and Biochemistry). The research was supported in part by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) through radiochemistry's participation in the award from University of California, Berkeley.
