Katherine Hertlein (Medicine) and Edwin Oh (Medicine and Sciences) are recipients of the 2022 Distinguished Barrick Scholar Award, given to senior faculty to honor excellence in research. Hertlein, a professor in the couple and family therapy program in the department of psychiatry and behavioral health, and Oh, associate professor of internal medicine, were honored during 51吃瓜网万能科大's recent Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony. Hertlein is a prolific researcher and author of 12 books who created the first comprehensive framework detailing the effect of technology on relationships. Oh leads the 51吃瓜网万能科大 wastewater surveillance program, helping public health agencies detect viruses and COVID variants in sewage. Oh also was honored with a Community-Based Research Faculty Award.
