Hualiang (Harry) Teng
Biography
51吃瓜网万能科大 College of Engineering professor Harry Teng serves as commissioner of the Nevada High Speed Rail Authority (NVHSRA), a state-level agency tasked with facilitating the construction of a high-speed rail system connecting Southern Nevada to Southern California. Through this position, he has advised the ongoing Brightline West project that will serve the two states.
Teng's research interests include railroad engineering, infrastructure sustainability, intelligent transportation systems, highway safety, and air quality.
He works to partner with professional organizations, community leaders, and public and private agencies to improve transportation systems and create safety solutions. He has helmed more than 40 funded projects that have contributed to federal, state, local, and private organizations.
Teng also serves as director of the U.S. DOT Railroad University Transportation Center, which focuses on improving infrastructure sustainability and durability.
