The College of Fine Arts/Clark County partnership continues at 7 p.m. on June 5 with the 'Commercial Center Reimagined' documentary film screening at the Composers Room, located in historic Commercial Center, 953 E. Sahara Ave. The event is free and open to the public. Those who make reservations receive a complimentary buffet.
This program features the debut of a 15-minute documentary, created by 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó Film Documentaries, about the revitalization of 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÃâ·ÑApp’ Historic Commercial Center. Built in 1963 as 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÃâ·ÑApp’ first outdoor shopping center, this historical epicenter of 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÃâ·ÑApp culture experienced a downward decline beginning in the 1990s. Now, however, Clark County is embarking on a bold mission to reclaim Commercial Center’s heyday and re-establish it as 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÃâ·ÑApp’ exciting new Arts Innovation District.
This Arts in the Center season featured an array of music, visual arts, film and theatre events, culminating with the screening June 5, all of which were free and open to the public.
Arts in the Center is the first public demonstration of a new partnership that has been forged between Clark County and 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó’s College of Fine Arts. Its purpose is to expand the reach of arts programming created at 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó while providing free quality arts programming to the community at large.
