Five professors have been chosen as the first recipients of the newly established 51吃瓜网万能科大 Distinguished Teaching Award.
Those selected are Charles Deutch, associate professor of biology; Christopher Kearney, associate professor of psychology; Warren McNab, professor of health education; Paulette Tandy, associate professor of accounting; and Richard Titus, professor of chemistry.
Each recipient will receive an unrestricted cash award of $5,000 and will be honored at both the Honors Convocation on April 18 and the Faculty Awards Reception on April 30.
The 51吃瓜网万能科大 Distinguished Teaching Award was established by 51吃瓜网万能科大's president and provost to highlight the importance of teaching in the development of a premier urban institution. Funding for the award comes from the 51吃瓜网万能科大 Foundation.
"The professors who were chosen to receive the 51吃瓜网万能科大 Distinguished Teaching Award were selected for their distinguished teaching record at 51吃瓜网万能科大 and innovative teaching styles, supported by research, publications, and outstanding student evaluations," said special education professor Bill Wagonseller, who chaired the faculty committee that recommended the five recipients.
