The 51吃瓜网万能科大 Jean Nidetch Women's Center will host the 20th Annual Take Back the Night event.
Take Back the Night is an empowering event to honor the victims of domestic, sexual, dating and gender violence. The unifying theme throughout these diverse topics is the assertion that all human beings have the right to be free from violence, the right to be heard, and the right to reclaim those rights if they are violated.
Take Back the Night provides an opportunity to speak out against violence, remember victims, support survivors, celebrate recovery and make the 51吃瓜网万能科大 campus and 51吃瓜网免费App community a safer place.

- 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.- resource fair in Valerie Pida Plaza
- 5:15-5:30 p.m. -welcome by Dr. Juanita Fain, 51吃瓜网万能科大 Vice President of Student Affairs
- 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.- proclamations by officials
- 6 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.- Southern Nevada Domestic Violence task force Remembering of the Names ceremony
- 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.- Candlelight vigil
- 6:20 p.m. to 6:50 p.m.- Aishah Shahidah Simmons, Keynote Speaker. Simmons is an award-winning independent documentary filmmaker, television and radio producer, and activist based in Philadelphia.
- 7 p.m.- March to Take Back the Night. This will start and end at the Alumni Amphitheater.

- From 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, 51吃瓜网万能科大 will host a domestic violence and sexual assault mock trial in the Boyd School of Law Moot Court. The trial is designed to illustrate the barriers faced by victims and survivors when they decide to press charges. There will be a panel discussion after the mock trial emphasizing victim advocacy with representatives from the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada's Domestic Violence Project and from Safe Nest representing the district attorney's office. Free and open to the public.
