Biography

Emir Malikov is Lee professor of economics in the Lee Business School. Prior to joining 51吃瓜网万能科大, he was an assistant professor at Auburn University. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2014. His research primarily sits at the intersection of econometrics and productivity analysis, with a broad range of empirical applications in microeconomics, industrial organization and operations research. In his work, Malikov has studied the production behavior of firms and the market structure in numerous industries including manufacturing, commercial banking, credit union sector, microfinance, electric power generation and distribution, dairy farming, and others. He has also written on hedonic valuation of adverse effects of non-marketable environmental disamenities and climate change. He has repeatedly published in many economics and OR/OM journals, including the Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Journal of Banking and Finance, European Journal of Operational Research and Journal of Operations Management.  Malikov serves as associate editor of Empirical Economics.
