Our Vision

The Division of Student Affairs is a dynamic environment characterized by shared leadership that fosters learning and human development.

Our Mission

The Division of Student Affairs provides quality services and programs that create educational opportunities, foster collegiate success, enhance continuous learning, and promote a just and inclusive campus. Working in partnership with the university and surrounding communities, Student Affairs is a service-oriented division that strives to establish a safe and secure learning environment that is diverse, dynamic, and student-centered.

Our Commitment to Diversity

The 51吃瓜网万能科大 (51吃瓜网万能科大), along with other research-intensive public universities in the United States, recognizes that a student body that is diverse with respect to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic class background, and geography, among other dimensions of cultural difference, benefits and enriches the educational experiences of all students, faculty, and staff. Accordingly, 51吃瓜网万能科大 strives to recruit students who will further enrich this diversity and to support their academic and personal success while they are a part of our campus community. The presence and achievement of racial and ethnic minority students at 51吃瓜网万能科大 not only benefits these students individually, but it also enhances the educational and interpersonal experiences of everyone in our campus community. 51吃瓜网万能科大 actively encourages applicants whose racial and ethnic backgrounds are underrepresented in higher education in Nevada, who are first-generation college students, and who have demonstrated financial need.

Advocacy

In order to better advocate on behalf of our diverse community, it is imperative that members of Student Affairs increase their awareness of the many forms of intolerance. Each individual shares responsibility for challenging all forms of oppression. We institute policies and practices to provide a civil, welcoming environment for self-expression and safety.

All members of Student Affairs agree to respect, support, and accept differences in:

  • Race
  • Religion
  • Gender
  • Age
  • Ability
  • Sexual orientation
  • Class
  • Occupation
  • National origin
  • Socioeconomic status
  • Education
  • Any individually defined identities

Enrichment

We acknowledge that our activities, programs, service, and everyday interactions are enriched by our acceptance of one another, and we further acknowledge that each individual enriches the environment and the overall experience of its members. Learning from community members is best achieved in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding. The divisional commitment to value diversity must be embodied by all members of Student Life in order to achieve the desired civil, just, and inclusive community.
