After a four-year hiatus, the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó (51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó) has resumed undergraduate classes at Nellis Air Force Base.
Classes are open to Nellis Air Force Base military personnel and their family members. This partnership is one of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó's many initiatives to assist members of the military pursue academic and career goals. The university currently enrolls an estimated 1,356 active duty, reservists, National Guard members, veterans and military family members. 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó offered courses at Nellis until 2010, when they were eliminated due to budget constraints
"The curriculum will be tailored to meet the needs of service members who often have to stop and restart classes due to redeployments," said Rainier Spencer, Associate Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. "By offering flexible class schedules, veterans and active duty members can be confident their academic career can continue while they are serving our country."
In October, history 101 and psychology 101 began at the base. The university plans offer additional course subjects and online courses as interest in the program grows, and has hired Paige Chesser as a full-time administrator to work at the base. She helps students with admissions and academic advising.

51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó was named a military friendly school by GI Jobs magazine in Sept. 2014 for the fifth consecutive year. 51³Ô¹ÏÍøÍòÄÜ¿Æ´ó also made the 2015 list of top military friendly colleges and universities in the publication Military Advanced Education. The list of schools will be published in the December magazine.
